So how much value is added to a tractor if you happen to have the first production number of a certain tractor or model year run? I saw a Cockshutt on here a year or so ago that a pretty health sum was being asked for it.

Good question. As of late, the very first 2-105 White to be produced was located and was mentioned in one of the latest HPOCA magazines. Personally, I wouldn't necessarily assess much additional value in terms of dollars to having the first production S/N of a certain model, but from a collector's standpoint, it definitely gives you something unique to differentiate your tractor from everyone elses.

I have seen first production JDs Sell very high 5010 went for 75,000 unrestored. First 330 was bid to around 125,000 and did not reach reserve. I would etimate that taking the average price of any model and times it by 10 .I dont feel would be out of line ,keeping in mind that there are buyers only collecting No 1s. and There is only ever 1 of the first one. My 2cents

Yeah, the Cockshutt I mentioned in my first post had a minimum of $100,000. Crazy money! Wow, but you are right, there is only 1.
