9ft Bare mower

How many horse do I need to run a 3pt 9ft bar mower I realy dont want to put it on the 1755 I was hoping to put a cylender on there to rase the bar and put it on the 880 with power traction hitch it should handel it shouldent it or is there a beter option on rasing and lowering the bar

We had a 9' IH trail mower and later a 9' semi-mount IH mower. The smallest tractor we used it on was a Ford 850(about 40 horse). No problems. Run mostly in 3rd.gear.

A 66 is all the power you need on it.

that is what I was wanting to hear some one told me it would take a 50 hp tractor to run one after I bought it and I did not want to have 1 tractor option for this mower I prever to be abel to run it with two diferent ones becous the 880 was down for a month last summer after I broke the front end spindel and got it back together seems to take me for ever to fix things any more
