When replacing the clutch in my '49 77RC, I found the pto shaft to be bent. When I went to buy a new one, I found there are 2 different lenghths (1 inch difference) for the 77. Why is this? Were the pto drive hubs different depths (between bushing and bearing style)? I'm swithing this one to the later bearing style hub so do I need the longer shaft? My tractor had the short (60inch) one. Thanks for any advice and help!

Are you sure that both of these shafts are for a 77? Without looking, the 770 takes a slightly longer PTO shaft than either a 77 or a Super 77 Hub has nothing to do with it.
