Got a 88 diesel fresh rebuild. Inj. pump was faulty. We put 1650 oliver pump, lines and timing cover off parts tractor on it. Now 88 with fresh motor won"t pull with the 88 work tractor we use on the farm. Any suggestions will be nice on what could be wrong or what would make it better. Tractor starts and runs good but dont have a whole lot of guts.

I would say right now you are lucky it does not work. Which 1650 pump? You will probably get a lot of thick like real thick black oil and run a good chance of spinning a bearing. It can not burn all that fuel properly. If you are going to run a Roosa pump and farm with it I would set it up like an 880 or maybe a 1600

Hey j its a roosa master pump. You think if it couldnt burn the fuel wouldnt there be smoke and slobber. It makes little smoke when put under strain other than that it burns clean.

We did about 90% of that once because we could not get an exchange pump for a 1600. It spun a main. I know it is a Roosa Master. The pump on a 1650 with a Lanova head is not calibrated the same as a direct injection 1650 so I wanted more pump details. So to put it in plain english give me the model number of the pump. If you are going to keep the Roosa which is fine at least get close on the calibration. Also for conversation purposes, how did you time it?
