Additional hydraulics?

I have a Super 88 with a loader. I also bought an aftermarket 3-pt for it. The way it is now, if I want to run the 3-pt, I have to unhook the hoses from the tilt side of the loader and hook them into the 3-pt. Because of this, if I have a 3-pt attachment on, I cannot tilt the bucket.

Is there a way to add some kind of a flow spiltter or additional valves or another remote or something so I can run all three things at once?

You need to add "Power beyond" and another va;ve. I would also suggest that the add on valve should have a 4 position or "float spool.

Forgive my ignorance, but I am a little new at this. First, where do I find a power beyond kit for my tractor and how do I install it?

Also, what is a 4-position float spool valve? Is it a valve with only one lever that controls both loader and bucket? I found this at northern tool, does this look right? http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_37216_37216

Chris in the last issue of the HPOCA newsletter covered how to do power beyond. The way I looked at the picture the answer is no. Four ports: in, out up & down eualls 4. Does not have float, only works one cylinder. More questions send me an e-mail. I am used to Gresen SP valves. Probaly more loaders have been sold with a Gresen SP than any other control valve.

While power beyond and another valve would sure be the most elegant solution, it would also be a little pricey. You can get a simple valve that directs the juice either of two ways, by sliding a lever. You probably aren't using the loader and 3 point at the same time, so it wouldn't be much of an inconvenience. Check surpluscenter.com.

this would be one with float

however I would use this one for the loader

and use the conventional controls for the three point

Depending on how much you use the loader you are border line on flow. Remember when the loader goes down flow rate will normally go up and you can exceed the 10 GPM unless you put a good flow cotrol in the circuit which is probaly a good idea anyway. Prince, Cross & Gresen(now Parker) are a little better quality.

I'll see if I can explain where to hook that extra valve, just ahead of the filter,on the right side of the pump housing, there is a 3/8ths pipe plug. That's where your return line will go from the new add on valve. Get the pressure from the 1/2 inch plug just below and ahead of that. It's just ahead of the filler cap for the transmission/rearend oil. Take that out and feel back inside with an O-ring pick, you'll find threads back in there. Put a 3/8ths plug with an allen head back in that hole. Now run your pressure hose to the "in" side of the new valve. Just make sure that you use an "Open Center" valve on it.

Hey Ron,Where ya been?

I've missed reading your posts & replies!

Hope all has been well.

OK, I did some more reading and research over the weekend, and I am not sure if I now know more, or are just more confused!

What exactly is "power beyond"? Is it just simply a matter of plumbing in another valve to the ports as described by rrlund? Or are there some other specialty fittings needed?

Those are pipe threads,so just put a galvanized pipe elbow,or a hi pressure hydraulic hose in those ports in place of the plugs as I explained, depending on which direction you need to run your plumbing. Run them to an open center two spool valve and hook the loader hoses to the correct ports on that new valve. That's it. You'll need to build something on the loader to bolt the valve to is all. Just make sure,if you take the loader off, take that 3/8ths pipe plug back out from back in there where I told you to put it,before you start the tractor. Same thing in reverse, when you put that plug in there,do it with the loader on and hook everything up before you start it.
