I was raking hay last saterday with the 58 880 NF and hit a ditch and snaped the front end spindel off right abuv the bearing I thought I blew a seal in the power stering becous it turned and would not turn back but I backed it up and could tell it was broke I was wandering if any one was makeing new ones I get off work at 5:30 so I have not got to any of the lockel plases to look or ask acording to the Agco parts book on the computor there was only one for the 770 and 880 with power stering
Also I had to open up the power stering on the front to get to the bolt that holds the spindal in this had been don befor I could tell and there was a plug in there on top the bolt it was smooth side up and it was a pain to get out it looked like it had a pry ing place on the other side is it supost to be up will I have to bleed the system befoe I am done I am not shur exacly witch setup I have but this tractor has a generator with the power stering pump shaft cut off and a whole sawed threw the hood for the dipstick and a pump up there and it dous not have a stering shaft going down to the stering gear
Thanks Thomas

35 years ago we sold one or two of those a year. Never did rebuild one. We had enough used ones laying around to solve those problems. I would look around for a complete front end. They are not all alike but they will all bolt up.

that would fix it but I would think it would cost more than just the spindel and a few berings the problem with replacing is I dont have any stering shaft or any thing would have to and want to stay with hydrostatic I think or full oil power stering would like to find a good used or new Dad found a machine shope that would put a new shaft in the one I have but the splines on the end was the expencive part and it was going to cost $600.00 but if I cant find any thing els it is beter than nothing
thanks Thomas

I found a good used spindel now I just have to waight for it to show up at the door and find out if it will go back to gether as easy as it came apart will have to get some bearings and maby a few seals and I hope that is it I will figur out if the system has to be blead after I get it together Thanks Thomas
