are the battery terminals all in the same position? I don't want to go to the battery shop with my old battery only to discover the new battery has the terminals positioned wrong.
thanks.

Steve........while yer 8N came from the factory, positive (+) ground, yer genny will charge fer negative (-) ground when "POLARIZED" correctly. There are some obscure advantages fer positive (+) ground, but just as long as BOTH yer genny and squarecan voltage regulator are correctly polarized, notta problem. BTW, modern plastic 6-volt batterys often have different sized battery posts pos-vs-neg, just adjust as necessary ...ie... file and pliers. Many neubie tractor mechanic wanna bees gitt confuzed about postive (+) ground 'cuz it ain't like their BelchFire-V8 with negative (-) ground and 12-volt alternator. Iff'n yer battery posts don't match yer battery cables, just turn yer battery around 180*, simple, eh? .........HTH, electrical Dell

Put a 8 volt battery in it and forget it. I have ran one in my 2n for years. It starts better and is not hot enough to burn anything but it does make your headlights bright.
