Searching for early 8n block

Does anyone know of a good source for an 8n frontmount block? I am in the market for that type specifically. North Carolina does not have any at this time, and John Smith is out too.

Snookie, I think I still have one but I am in Oregon. took it out of a running tractor that the rearend was broken in. Will check in the morning if interested.

I have several none were runners when I got them. It can be a losing proposition to disassemble one have it cleaned, checked and then shipped. That's why I don't have the ambition to push used tractor parts. (a strong desire to do or to achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work.) Unless you have noting else to do the bottom line is not that good.

What price range would a good block fetch. :?:

I am searching for a frontmount for the originality. Also, I have been told by others that quality blocks for these tractors are getting harder and harder due to age and abuse. Welding cast iron, especially in the thin areas is a tricky proposition at times.

I have bought small parts from this guy and had no problems . Unless you are restoring to original a later side mount block might have the thick sleeves and large oil pump .

Good looking block even has somewhat new valve seats. Water got in one cylinder its not a deal killer. I have brought a few parts from him and was satisfied till he shipped me a different part than what was listed, The part was usable but not the part he listed I did not use it and found a better part.

It was a cam for a side mount I sold the distributor gear off it and got my money back. I paid 20 for the cam and sold the gear for 20 the guy that got the gear was happy.

The last naked block I sold went for $250. Don't know how that sounds in other areas but by the time a paid my part time guy to pull it, tear it
down, then have it magna fluxed for any cracks, I don't fell like I made anything. Also, had it been cracked, all that work would have costed me
just as much with no return. We all know that's gonna happen sometimes.

I think the next time, I will let them pick one out, pull it, tear it down, and look it over themselves for $125.
