Making some money, but I doubt it's his primary income. Hope the operator is more competent at tractor operation than spelling lol

I had a good friend who just recently died of cancer who lost his right arm at five years old and made a living with an 8N and box blade building driveways and dirt roads. He could run that 8N and box blade better than anybody I ever knew with two arms.

In later years he owned and operated a paving company and grading company.

My Dad did the same thing. He had his own dump truck and bought an 8N and loader to load and sell black dirt. People started asking him to grade driveways and yards. After a short time he bough the equipment to grade and seed new home yards.

He did all the yards for several contractors and would sometimes have as many as 40 houses to do when the weather opened up in the spring.

He ended up with two 860s and a 600 tractor. He kept a flatbed truck permanently attached to a tandem trailer and the disc, harrow, box blade, brillion seeder and one tractor usually stayed on that rig.

His dump truck stayed in the yard most of the time. He found that maintenance and insurance was much cheaper running the tractors. He quit when he was 74 years old, I miss him.

Thanks for your comments. This is something I always wanted to do in my life,( make a
living using Ford tractors) but I did full time factory work and part time farming
instead. I did Know a number of guys that did this kind of work for a living, and did
quite well at it, 8ns were a starting point and they ended up with the the newest Ford,
industrials at the time. I have a nephew that is growing a similer business today,
using a new NH tractor and various brands of equipment,He is doing well, but still needs
other work to keep going. My father passed away in 98 I still miss him.
