53 Ford Jubilee Hydraulic fluid

I live in Kansas and need advice on what hydraulic fluid I should use for the cold weather. I know the fluid should be 134D, 2
gallons but not sure if that has a separate sump form the rest of the tractor. I heard about a "C" type fluid for temps below 32
but I'm not sure about that and not to keen on additives. Thanks, Ron

You will be just fine with any good quality Universal Tractor Transmission Fluid (UTF). Here is just one commonly available example - there are hundreds of other name brands that will do the job and can be found at most automotive supply houses or even Walmart. Stay away for the "economy" fluids especially in cold weather.

If you mean 134"C" fluid, 134D superseded it.
I use exactly what TOH posted here in Michigan with no trouble.

Yes it has a separate sump, unlike the earlier N series.

I don't use any additives in mine but do check them for water.
Water can be drained off by cracking open the drain plug after it
has sat a while and settled to the bottom until you can change it.
