9N Does not run on Corn

Well my old 9n wouldn't start today, sputtered and sounded funny when cranking. Ran fine 1 week ago. Started to check things, thought maybe carb needle valve stuck open and filled up the carb with gas. Pulled off the air tube and low and behold it was full of corn kernels. Looks like a mouse was saving corn for the winter . I had the air cleaner disconnected at the time. Had to remove intake/ exhaust manifold and empty the corn from the intake ports. After cleaning, started right up. What a day !!!! Picture shows all the corn on the ground.

I have a 47 2n and a mouse filled the muffler and exhaust pipe full of soy beans. It ran but soon started stinking and then blew them out.

Yes, I had the same thing happen. I had a '41 that had a hole in
the exhaust manifold. No problem, just went out to the barn and
got one off the shelf. It seems like the mice had got into the
corn I ground up for chicken scratch. Same thing sputtering,
popping, burnt smell. I took it back off and cleaned it out and
had to clean the carb out, twice but ran good after that.
I have had a lot of tractors over the years and never named one
but this one was always called popcorn after that incident.

My Dad was working on a JD A before he died. When we got looking at it a couple of years later the water jacket was full of soybeans.

The vertical exhaust on my 641 got filled with acorns. Must have be fifty in there. I now cover the exhaust with a can.

I had mice chew a hole in the headliner on my 70 Nova SS. They also filled the bracing of the deck lid with corn. Bad thing about the headliner is that I have a cage in the car. Without cutting the cage out or at least dropping it through the floor, I'm not getting a new headliner in.
