8n front mount distributor vent hole

I just read a post in here from 2001 where a gentleman stated that the front mount distributor for the 8n does not have any vent holes... mine has two. I just removed the screen vent from the bottom of the distributor and then discovered that I had removed the wrong one (I'm replacing the points with electronic ignition). The screen was destroyed in my removal process... no details forthcoming... so I began looking for replacement screen vents and haven't been able to locate anything. Am I going to have a world of problems in the future if this screen vent is left as an open hole? Could I perhaps cement a screen over the hole? Is it exactly this kind of scenario that explains why city folk shouldn't be allowed to mess with country things unsupervised?

I have a 1948 8n tractor and I really want to get her running.... Thanks in advance!

I retract the above question.... after removing the correct screen vent, I replaced it into the bottom hole and it fit fine.... I swear it LOOKED too small.... please return to your normal viewing pleasure.....

 all's well that ends well :)

things that require the participation of a hospital or coroner, on the other hand... ;)
