8N speed reduction

I am talking to a guy about 3 8n tractors he no longer uses due to health reasons. He mentioned a sherman in one and said he liked to to do bushhogging since it slowed it down. I was trying to figure out which sherman he has since that didnt sound right. The pics showed a control lever on the right side of the tranny opposite the PTO lever. Im thinking this is a Howard or similiar unit which reduces the travel speed but not the PTO. What is the market value of this type unit if I remove it? FYI, I am in North MS

Any auxiliary trans in front of the main trans, sherman, hupp (which has the lever on the right side of the trans) will also slow down the PTO.
Any auxiliary trans after the main trans located in the rear center housing, such as the Howard, will be not slow down the PTO.

Sounds like a Howard. If in good shape with no damaged gears the Howard's sell for upwards of $1K. It's fairly hard to find one in that condition.

Here is a picture of the Howard shifter which would be located on the right side hydraulic inspection port.
