cleaning tranmission parts

decided that the $50 they wanted for the plastic parts cleaner, or the $100 they wanted for the chinsey metal one, wasn't worth it, bought this steel sink for $10 , had a fuel pump for an old chevy laying around I took out of a stripped truck, and it works great!

(quoted from post at 13:50:41 10/15/16) Nice engineering James. Looks like it gets the job done.

One could also use a swamp cooler pump. It runs on 110 volts. Or s submersible fountain pump.

COOL.

I would not buy one of those HF parts cleaners they are a P.O.S.
I have two Safety Kleen parts washers the big ones they can not be beat. Keep a eye out for one they usually go cheap.

How I got my first one,,, 36 years are so ago I rented one of there cleaners I brought one from Snap-on and had the rental picked up. A few years later a Safety Kleen (SK) driver stopped by and was pushing there products. He put in a cleaner, about 10 cases of oil filters and some other stuff along with a nice wood creeper. That was the last time I seen a SK rep of any kind till around 2002. A rep came into the shop and spotted the cleaner, he was a cocky SOB and ask how I came about it (he thought I would come up with a lie but no I told him how I came about it) I told him YES its yours. :SHOCKED He said he would have it picked up I said OK but let me work up a bill for storage,,, He got mad and stomped out the door :)

That creeper was the best one I ever had it just flat worn out a few years ago,,, a guy working for me knew how much I prized it he took it and made me a replica and gave it to me for X-mas...

Is that OSHA approved? ;)
Looks like it will get the job done for washing.
I have a 15 year old el-cheapo parts washer, not from Harbor
Freight, but similar. The pump quit about a week after I bought it.
It still works very well for soaking and cleaning.
The pump didn't seem to do too much for me since the crud
simply went back into the tank so I never bothered with fixing it.
