OK, here is the problem. I have an 8N with front distributor and it has a deep knock at the back of the engine only on very high RPM;s. It is loud and seems to be coming from the flywheel area.
So, what in that area could be making that loud noise?
I have overhauled, completely rebuilt, the entire engine with all new bearings and sleeve?s and mains as well. I never heard the motor running before the overhaul so I do not know if this problem was there before or not. It has a stripped timing gear and that is why I rebuilt it.
Anyway, I appreciate all the help I can get on this and while I realize I will have to break it down again, I would like to get some expert opinions first. Thanks.
