OK, here is the problem. I have an 8N with front distributor and it has a deep knock at the back of the engine only on very high RPM's. It is loud and seems to be coming from the flywheel area.
So, what in that area could be making that loud noise?
I have overhauled, completely rebuilt, the entire engine with all new bearings and sleeve?s and mains as well. I never heard the motor running before the overhaul so I do not know if this problem was there before or not. It has a stripped timing gear and that is why I rebuilt it.
Anyway, I appreciate all the help I can get on this and while I realize I will have to break it down again, I would like to get some expert opinions first. Thanks.
