Hi, all.
I have a 5' IMCO brush mower that's on its last legs, and I need to replace it.
I only need to mow about 3 acres of prairie grass that I let grow from mid-summer until hard frost, and then I cut it in April (when it's at 3-4 feet and dead), once in May, and once in June. I then start the cycle over. There isn't really any brush because I've kept it mowed down over the years. It's just tough prairie grass that we enjoy looking at. It turns a red/gold in the fall, a nice straw color during the winter, and eye-popping green in the summer.
I've used my Exmark 60" commercial ztr to do the job with the deck set at 6 inches, but the height of dead grass in April and the thickness of the grass in May is at the Exmark's limits, so the IMCO has been my first choice.
I'm looking for recommendations on a brush mower.
I don't want to spend a fortune, and have looked at the Mahindra line.
Any thoughts on brands? Anything to stay away from?
Thanks for the advice.
