OT - Briggs Parts

Need parts for old but not old old gas powered edger --Briggs 3.5 hp--not having any luck
at Jacks small engines or parts tree any suggestions? Model 01212 Type 0219 01--right now,
just needing carb diaphragm and rubber elbows for the tube that comes out of the valve stem
cover to the carb..any help appreciated..Thanks
 
Tom ,You need the three groups of numbers.The model number system on a Briggs and Stratton engine includes a model number, an engine type number, and a code number that can be found on a metal plate attached to your engine or stamped directly on the engine cover.

The first number will be your model number, the second ? your engine type number, and the third will be the code number.
 
Carb diaphragm can be purchased under 2 part numbers: B&S # 270026 or B&S #272538S

90* breather tube elbow: B&S #692189

Breather tube to breather grommet: B&S # 692187
 
Thanks Den--i have bought lots of small engine parts over the yrs=seldom needed the code-anyway this time I just got lazy and did not write all of em down..Thanks..Looks like cwtech has given me what I need..lil ole small parts are often the hardest to find but you have to have them..chasing down parts is aggravating and more time consuming than doing the actual repair-of course that applies to everything..
