Davis loader reservoir cleanout

After setting in a pasture for fifty years, I was able to bring my 8n back to life using many tips from this website. The tractor had a Davis FEL on
it but I removed it to make working on the tractor easier.
I now am ready to rebuild the FEL and I need to flush out the oil reservoir which is in the frame work of the loader. The drain plug for the
reservoir does not appear to be on the very bottom of the reservoir and I worry about not getting all the junk cleaned out of the reservoir
completely. While in the process of getting the tractor running, the front mount pump did pump oil which leaked out from the loader control
valve. The oil was creamy white which to indicates it has water in it. Any suggestions on how to clean out the reservoir would be appreciated.
Also wondering what it would take to rebuild the loader lift cylinders.
Thanks for your help

You can get a manual for the Davis 101 & 102 loaders on Ebay.

I just went out and looked at my Davis loader. Take a look at yours again. The upright angular tank is welded to the 4 X 4 beam that makes up the bottom of the loader frame. There is no tank under that drain plug. The bottom of the tank ends at the 4 X 4 frame piece. I would say that the drain plug is as close to the bottom as they could get it.

Forgot to say this. When you remove that drain plug, stick your finger or a piece of wire in there and you'll find that what you thought was more tank, is not, it's actually the bottom frame piece.

Thanks for the information. I was also wondering how to flush the complete reservoir.. Connect a hose to one of the fittings and use a pump to run diesel fuel or
some other cleaning solution until it comes out clean?
