The rare 8M

Was the 8M the model with fifty horsepower, double overhead cam, independent wishbone suspension, live pto, 27 speed transmission, and
free undercoating? I ask, because the price seems kind of high, although if the ad is correct, then it has more coats of paint on it than hours of
run time. Painted every year, that's a new one on me.

I can hardly believe he lost the key to such a valuable gem! Impressive that in those 30 hours the fuel line got an inline filter, Lol.

Yes sir, that 8M was quite rare--price a little high or I'd try to snatch it up before it
gets away..BTW, I'm looking for a 8P...really rare but worth quite a chunk of change..

Doesn't have the original rear rims. Fuel filter too close to the manifold. I bet a dollar it has more than 30hrs.

Wonder what color he painted the fluids? Or did he change color every year? You guys have all of the best ones in your area. Out here we get the ones that are just about to start and if it does the price will go up.

Jerry I think that would be the 8P that Tom's looking for.
That's got to be some thick paint, eh?

Sitting around between the 30 hours of use the rear rims rusted
out, as did the gas tank, thus the rims had to be replaced and
the filter added to keep rust out of the carb. I also saw some
ocean front property for sale in Kansas if anyone is interested.......

 glad i'm not the only one who thought about that.

plenty of people will change fluids, but how many will paint them?

Well, the 30 original hours sounds believable. That'd be how many hours the dealer snuck in working his fields before selling it. My 871 only had 19 original hours on it, and that was tractor parades. Unfortunately, it now has 3,360 non-original hours on it. . . .

It's hard to tell from the photo, but the left front tire looks a lot more worn than the right. Maybe the M was a NASCAR pace car edition.

Jerry

for 6300$ why not replace the key and the light bulbs?

if you are going to paint the fluids every year.. geesh..

I wonder if the rake is included in the price along with the rack???? Must give him credit for a nice clean and organized shop he has. Wish that were mine!!
