Hydraulic Ram

I was wondering if I could hook up any hydraulic rams to my ford 8n. If not, could I buy a seperate pump to make it work?

" Hydraulic ram"?

You mean like a wood splitter?

Even if you add a remote, you won't be happy trying to run a log splitter on 1200 psi & 2.9 GPM's produced by the pump.

You need live hydraulics to do that. Check out this link:

Or, you could get a PTO driven pump.

what are you trying to do.. the more info you give us, the better info we can give you.

The reason a log splitter isn't a good fit, is you may grow old splitting more than just a hobby amount of wood.

There are PTO driven pumps and engine driven pumps
like the ones used for loaders on these tractors. Either
of those might fit the bill and could use a separate reservoir.

The engine driven pump would give you live hydraulics to an
external control valve for use with remotes while the PTO
driven style requires the PTO to be running and the clutch
to be engaged. Similar to how the original 3pt hitch works.

TOH's setup gives you fully live hydraulics including the 3pt.
Very nice to have.
