I am rebuilding the carb for a 8N tractor (TSX33). The fire retarding filter in the bottom of the carb is gone. Does any one know where I can purchase a new disk ? I would prefere one of the sintered metal ones.
Thank You

You can buy the sintered strainer like was used in the 241's at
various websites like Roberts carb repair . com for $12.50 plus
shipping. (remove the spaces)
There are also 1/8 inch threaded versions if you want to drill
and tap you carb bowl to accept one of those.

The original Ford part number was 9N9692. FIAT says "no longer available.

The MS part number is 95-78. If you have a John Deere dealer nearby and have them order it on a stock order so there's no added freight, it'll cost you about $12. (The DEERE parts system recognizes that number.)

If you can post a picture of the bottom of your carb that
may help too. Not all of them had a sintered strainer.
TSX-33's in particular.
You would have to modify it to get one to fit.

Thank you for the comments. They were a hugh help. The 9N9694 looks great.
Yes the remains in there look more like a fiberous material, but I would prefere to have the sintered brass or stainless steel one. There is a sheet metal disk over the few remaining fibers. I plan to pry it out and reuse or fabricate a new one with possibly a larger hole since the sintered disk only needs to be held in. I had tried this site first of course.
Thank all of you very much.
