Can some please help or have any pointers. I have a ford 8n that runs like a top when running. The tractor will run a bit and will die and won't start back up. If you let the tractor sit awhile it will eventually start back up but after a short while will die again. I have replaced every electric component on the tractor if you name it I've bought it. Front mount distributer, coil, plugs, wires, the works it has been converted to 12v but it's all new as well resistor all of it even has new starter the only thing in the system that hasn't been replaced is the key switch. I have just replaced the carburetor, drained the tank, cleaned the lines still no remedy. I have even took it to a place that restores tractors and they didn't get it fixed and a mechanic friend has looked it over any help would be much appreciated.

You've done good
Only thing I can recommend is sediment bowel problem
there is screen on it(in the tank) and one below(at the glass portion)
It sure sounds like fuel problem

Thanks for your reply but I already replaced that as well thanks to tractor supply. This thing has me stumped and very aggravated!!

How long is "a bit"?
Try running it with the gas cap loose.
If it still quits, I second Bruce's suggestions.
No spark when it quits?
The original style key switch was prone to failure.
It can be bypassed to test before buying new parts.

No to be honest I have not inspected the cap I will give it a try and I am getting spark when it dies.
