A couple of weeks ago I got my first two 8N's, a 1950 and a 1951. The 1951 had been sitting for 2 or 3 years and had a stuck engine. ATF and MMO in the cylinders got it free,was able to get it running but ran rough and wouldn't idle smoothly. Vacuum gauge suggested it needed a valve job. Pulled manifold and side covers, found 1 broken valve spring and the valve stems were sloppy in the guides. Ordered parts Wednesday, got them today and was disappointed. 7 intake valves and 1 exhaust valve, missing 2 guide seals, no rotator cups or keepers, and an extra set of intake valve keepers. Gotta find a better source for parts! The 3 point lift and pto seem to operate fine. Pulled the head off this morning and got a good start on cleaning. The 1950 has been sitting even longer, needs a battery tray, battery door, tool box and possibly a starter. Appears the battery leaked all over and ate up the tray, tool box and starter. Will post some pics when I can.
