Royce, thanks again for the headlights. Fred and the wife did super going over the bridge. What a ride! (Tractor talk bridge crossing update)Where in starts my problem. Wife said paint the lettering on Fred or she won't go with me again! Lol Do you know someone that paints them or just use stickers? Thanks Dale

We've used the decals, they look Ok but are a pain to get on straight.

Dell mentioned using a 2 x 4 block of wood wrapped in an old
T-shirt dipped in paint to blot the letters. I haven't tried that yet.

The stencils worked out Ok with a lot of masking and low air pressure.

Joan has hand painted them on some of ours. I do not have the
patience required to make them look good that way!

May be a good time to get the wife involved in the hobby!

What did I miss, you drove your tractor over the Mackinaw Bridge? When did they start doing that?

You missed a gathering of 1300 + 40 year or older tractors that crossed the mackinac bridge!! 9th year of them putting this on. Me and the wife's first time. The stageing is free to the public so you can just look at 1300 + tractors if you want. Owasso tractor parts put it on, $45 to drive it across. $25 for buddy seat riders. shuttle bus to get you back to where you want to go. Koa campground $35 night.. Must belong to a club that partipates They can find a club for you if you can't find one. You can join the club I'm with.($ 25 yr)Some guys drove there up there. I may try that myself,What a ride!

When was it this year? do you have any idea when it will be next year? My 8N isn't painted and pretty, but runs, I would love to drive it across the bridge. So, you drive to the UP, ride back then go get it, or drive across and then back? If there is some kind of link or site, can you post it? By the way, I am in the White Cloud area of the lower.

I crossed the bridge a few weeks ago....in a Jeep! I don't like that bridge. You can see through it! HAHA! I may try the tractor crossing next year. Sounds like a good time and the U.P. is my idea of heaven on earth. Always looking for an excuse to go!

You drive your tractor across from Mackinaw to St. Ignace. They shuttle you back to Mackinaw where you pick up your rig. Drive your rig across the bridge to St. Ignace. Load up your tractor and then back across the bridge to the lower Peninsula (That's assuming you are a troll...) The bridge authority gets lots of money that day!

Just call owosso tractor parts or just google bridge crossing 2016. You don't need
a trailer queen to make the crossing. Juct one you think will make it. There were
all brands with at least one break down! The week after Labor Day. Owosso
tractor parts on Facebook. The wife and i will be here next year. Hope to see you
there. Dale
