neutral saftey starter button 9n

finishing 12 volt conversion on my 9n,(that was started by someone else). I am trying to figure out how to hook my original safety starter button to my new 12 volt solenoid since the original 6 volt solenoid is dead. any help would be greatly appreciated.

9N does not have a solenoid. It has a starter switch - mounted on the engine side of the steering box and actuated by a rod from the neutral start button. The original button (or it's replacement) will work with 12 volts.

Farmddc,You need a starter switch and not a solenoid on your 9N to make the neutral start button work correctly.

no Bruce that is what I am trying to avoid, I have a wife and kids and do not need myself or them hurt. that is why I am trying to figure this out the right way
