Diffential Install Difficulty Ford 9N

After installing new bearings and cones on the differential and the trumpets I am having trouble installing the differential.

I have lifted and slid the differential onto the right wheel drive Shaft (obviously I have the left trumpet off). I cannot get it to push or slide onto the splines of the right drive shaft.

Any suggestions? I have tried rotating the differential, but it just doesn't seem to slide into the housing, and I am having trouble getting it onto the right drive shaft coming out of the trumpet.

Help.....

check the splines on the shaft and the diffy. might be a bur on the shaft.

check the diffy on the left axle. IE.. see if the left axle slips in where the right should..
