Sherman Overdrive modification

Was discussing the idea of changing a
Sherman Overdrive into a underdrive by
swapping the input and output gears. Is this
possible? Or getting new gears machined for
the same result? I have 2 of the overdrives
sitting here in 2ns, would make a heck of a
pulling tractor.

The gears inside the Sherman case would be have to be changed out. I have a few Sherman step up on the bench but the only step down I have is in a tractor so I can't show you the gearing.

Based on John Smith's description of the differences in the step-up/step-down units you would also need a different cluster gear.
