I got my Brush Hog 3-pt connection quandary resolved.

I mounted the lower link pins on the insides of the A Frame with a few shims to narrow the pin-to-pin distance more.

The fact that my lower arms were splayed out so wide that I could barely connect my sway bars, also brought the Cutter in too close to my tires and riding off center as well.

Was starting to think about changes to my sway bars, or using chains instead when I measured the pin separation on my other attachments and found how much closer together they were.

I'm guessing that weird sway bar set up you have was the problem. It looks pretty neat but I'm guessing it doesn't give you my play in or out.

When I first got my 8N with the mower and box blade, the pins on the mower were on the inside like yours. I moved them to the outside to make it easier to hook up.

You're probably right and I was contemplating trying my other regular sway bars

BUT . . . If I did that my lower link arms would be waaay out wide again, which draws the whole mower deck much too close to my rear tires especially when raised -- I've already had one edge of the deck climb up the wheel when I first tried to move it.

Because these unique bars work so well on all my other attachments I'm glad they now work on this mower. For one thing I don't have to have them tied up with wire like I've seen some normal bars when not in service on an attachment. These bars also have lower link balls at the differential ends.

My other 6 attachments have 24" to 26.5" from pin mount to pin mount. This MF Cutter has a whopping [b:511c2e4bf0]30.5"[/b:511c2e4bf0] between pins so these pins are staying on the inside.:)

Thanks,
Terry

I never had a problem with my mower being to close but when I installed Pat's Quick Hitches that pushed my mower back another 3 inches or so.

By "back" did you mean closer to the tractor or further away?
I assumed "further away".

Yes, further from the rear wheels. It gave the sliding drive shaft more room to work also. I actually thought about cutting that drive shaft at one time but I couldn't just whack off the end. It would have to be cut in the center and welded back up.
