52 8N governor gear or what drives the cable on the proof meter is worn it seems. The meter works and the cable looks good and drives meter off a small drill so it seems the problem is within the governor. The kits are not in stock. How do I start with this repair? Thanks.

Tach drive cable should have a "tang" sticking out that engages with a slot in a "roll pin" driven into the hole in the back of the governor shaft.

Tang may be worn off or rollpin may not be installed.

If I remember correctly, this cable end is SIMILAR the what an "N" would use at the gov end.
