Hi all,
I'm installing new spindles and bearings on the front of my NAA. The outer bearing has an ID of 0.747" and the shaft OD (just past the castle nut threads) is 0.751". 0.004" seems tight...especially since I don't think there is supposed to be a press fit here at all. Is this how it is supposed to be?
If I heat it up to put it on, it's not like I can pack it first...and then what's the point of the castle nut to set the preload...so I'm thinking something's not right. The inner bearing slides on perfectly.
BTW, many thanks go to you all. I have used the forum for many years but rarely need to post as I can usually find tons of great info in the archives!
