8N misfires when not warmed up

My 1952 8N is a trooper, but has started misfiring under load when not really hot. Battery is good, distributor is good, and has new plugs.
Rebuilt and reset the carb. Coil is good and leads are one year old. So what is happening here? Oil pressure is good and radiator is not
losing fluid. Your thoughts?

Misfiring under load can be spark related or fuel mixture (lean) related. If it is spark related it should not be super sensitive about being at operating temperature and [u:fc951ba407]can not [/u:fc951ba407]be improved by applying some choke.

A lean fuel mixture or non-functioning enrichment circuit in the carburetor will cause the engine to, not respond (die) when the throttle is opened or when the clutch is let out. This typically occurs just off choke but not warmed to operating temperature and [u:fc951ba407]can[/u:fc951ba407] typically be improved by applying some choke.

David,The plugs are not getting oil fouled are they,is the distributor cap and rotor points and gap, condenser in good shape?
Have you tried feathering the choke?

(quoted from post at 16:19:15 08/14/16) In addition to the plugs as Harold asked, have you replaced the points plugs condenser rotor and cap?
75 Tips

Yup.
Have new points, condenser, plugs, but not rotor or cap, but they look clean. Overhauled carb and gas line is clear. Has a 3 year old pertronix 6v coil and wiring harness is 5 years old. Tractor gets moderate use. Thoughts?
