OT, wooden floor trailer and hot asphalt

I am debating picking up some hot asphalt from the local plant to repair pot holes in my driveway. My trailer is dual axle and I have solid metal sides I added, but the floor is pressure treated wood. I plan to lay some metal siding from over the floor that I had left from my pole barn garage.

Could the hot asphalt ignite the wood floor?

Thanks. Any advice as to how to keep this stuff warm enough to stay workable? I have to buy a ton at a time and am working by myself. Unfortunately I have no one to help other than my wife and she is not strong enough to shovel or tamp anything.

Work on a hot day, work quick, a heavy tarp, burlap etc helps hold in the heat, and work from the edges first since they are the parts that cool quickest. The more you have in a lump the longer it holds heat.

I'd be a little leery of driving out from under the loaded sheet of roofing. Caution and care would be important. gm

I missed where he said anything about that, I assumed it was just going to be used as a bedliner

You will be looking at 300-375'f material.

You can dip your loop and tamper in diesel to prevent sticking.
