I am trying to find a grease seal or at least a number for a seal. It is off of an old Dearborne Post Hole Digger model 22-59 PTO shaft. Has anyone had to replace the PTO seal? FYI; 2 7/8" x 1 5/8" x 7/16" or 73.03mm x 41.28mm x 11.11mm shaft/housing/depth of metal. Any help is appreciated.

you likely won't find that thickness,I prefer national brand seals over C/R brand

national seal no 450078 has a width of .468

national seal no 473444 has a width of .375

I replaced the output shaft seal on an old MF 59 Hog and didn';t like the national seal I picked up because it had a different casing than the original seal which wasn't open backed like typical seals.

so . . . I phoned a tractor dealer and he ordered me in the correct replacement from Chicago.

Here's a photo of the difference:

I would think that an industrial bearing dealer would have that seal. There are numbers describing the dimensions of the seal.
They can also measure the seal and cross reference it for numbers.
