Maybe if the tractor is stationary it will be ok.
But if you drive forward with the log hooked that high you'll have it flipped over on you faster than the blink of an eye.

They are cut into 2 ft pieces. To heavy for me to carry up hill. Black Walnut is a very heavy wood. Only use to get up the hill. Road to close to drive and pull. Have used to pull neighbors boat dock up the riverbank. For that I use front weights on bumper.

Wayne,

following up on what UD said . . . if that were my setup I'd pick a point lower on the boom for the pull of the winch. My boom has two points both of which have their purposes as do the two together.

You might even want go further back on the boom than mine for your second lift point. The further along, the less able to lift the front end.

My 1.5 cents worth (Canadian) :)

Reason pully is at the end as to not plow into the side of the hill and to pull easier. My pully is adjustable to
any spot on the boom. Also depends on the weight i'my pulling. Tks
