8N steering housing

I'm in the process of rebuilding my steering housing on my 8N 1950 model. It has the newer housing for 1950-1952 units. ok, so does anyone know where i can get a manual with good instructions so
I can get it back together correctly. I'm replacing the seals and all gaskets.
Thanks in advance for the help.

the basic I&T manual has perfect directions for rebuilding the steering box.

If you can count past 7, you can re-time the box.

if you can't count past 7, enlist help! ;)

Do yourself a favor and pull the entire box off. easier to work with, and easier to clean all the decades of gunk out. Even with new seals, I recommend refilling with JD Cornhead grease instead of oil. Flows good to keep the gears and bearings lubricated, but doesn't find the leaks as easily.

I did remove it after loosening all the joints. Good grief, what a job. I took the housing to a shop for blasting and then I hope to install the new seals etc.
thanks for the tips.

Got the book. Really helps out a lot. Only problem is how do you fill the interior of the housing with grease (JD Cornhead Grease was recommended). I find no access to fill it. Do I have to pull off the top shaft where the steering wheel attaches or do I just put in as much as I can when the gear arm is off.

Thanks
