way OT (.17 HMR question)

I thinking of buying a lever action chambered for .17 HMR. (maybe a henry as I have no henry's) since it is a rim fire I am assuming that there is no problem with the rounds in a tube fed rifle ???

what say you.

soft poly tip, soft point or hollow point should be ok..... just like any other tube gun...

To be completely safe.. consult the firearm and ammunition manufacturer. ;)

No problem in a tubular magazine. 17 HMR is a rimfire cartridge.

Didn't know Henry made anything in 17 HMR. Sweet guns, I have one in .22 and want one on .44 magnum. Action is as smooth as butter.
 
I love my henry in 22 cal. Like mdparrot said smooth as butter and wood to metal fit is flawless, and price is right as well as made in the US. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be so I put a scope on it.
 
I bought a Henry .17 for my son about 10 years ago and he rarely shot it. I put a good scope on it and it is the sweetest shooting rifle I have ever had my hands on. On a good rest I have killed a number of squirrels at 100 yds. and a little more. If you have a steady hand it will hit them in the head most of the time. I had to call the factory because I thought they had left out the scope mount. They sent another one immediately and then I found the original in the box. My error. Great folks and great rifle.
 
One thing I've noticed is that .17 HMR ammo seems to be in better supply than plain old .22 and .22 mag. Maybe it's just the places I shop. Regardless, if the .17 is as smooth as the .22 Henry, you'll love it. (I have, I think, 10 .22 and .22 mag Henrys, so I'm biased.)
