Running rich

The other day while running my 51 8n my son said it was running rich. So I pulled the plugs and they look good to me they were a lite gray to
almost white any whiter I would say it was running lean. But he says the exhaust is way to rich. Any feed back welcome

I would ask him what made him think that.
At what speeds, before or after warm up, etc.
What you describe of the plugs sounds good to me.
Shouldn't hurt to clean and re-gap them though.

Folks that are nowadays accustomed to the smell of CATALYZED exhaust will likely think strangely of uncatalyzed exhaust...

nless he has an exhaust gas analyzer, he probably has no capability to analyze "rich". :roll:
