641 3 Point

I know it is not an N series, but there are a lot of similarities, and I didn't get much on the Ford board... The 3 point control on Dad's 641 seems a bit off. All of the raising and lowering occurs in the top 20 degrees of the 90 degree swing of the position lever. Didn't used to be that way. Looked through the various service manuals he has... No guidance. I tried changing the draft control. No changes. It's almost like the draft control is always active. Any ideas?

If it changed abruptly it is likely that something broke or bent in the linkage. But when I see only the top 20 degrees of the touch control arm working, I would be checking the cam follower pin for wear and the linkage adjustment.

The I&T manual has a nice procedure for adjusting the linkage or you can order the gauge blocks, cam follower pin, and procedure from Zane Sherman.

Too bad you have to pull to top cover to check this out. Not a bad job. Just be sure to order the gasket/o-ring kit.
