the "Blackbird" won't fire up

some of you have read my posts about rebuilding Kelly Johnson's 9N that I bought from his stepson. Well I finished putting it all together with 12 volt conversion and new everything outside the engine............except things I didn't need to replace like fan blade and radiator.......rebuilt the carb, new battery, gauges, and key switch........There is no reason it shouldn't fire but she just turns over and over......

I guess the next thing to do tomorrow after I sleep on it will be to check the new spark plugs and see if they are wet and getting fuel.......I'm sure i'm getting spark........but I wouldn't bet my life on it just yet.......

Very likely spark problem--spark must jump 3/16 to a 1/4 gap and be blue/whitish blue--
yellow is weak..

(quoted from post at 07:43:37 07/05/16) compression in each cyl in the 75+ range?

spark at each plug?

fuel?

post back

the guy I bought it from put oil in the cylinders to keep it from seizing.........could that effect compression or ability to fire?
