Please help!!!!! I'm trying to assemble an original rear worklight for a ford golden jubilee. I have three aftermarket retainer clips that I can't for the life of me figure out! Any help, especially a picture would be greatly appreciated!

you are correct! a picture would help out.

Post a picture of what YOU have, then we can tell you what will or won't work using your parts on hand.

Not knowing what you have, we are just guessing wildly!

My email is open -contact me and I can send you pictures of the original 8N15500 implement lamp installation clip setup and instructions follow here...

They are a little tricky to work with and nnalert carries the little clips that Dennis Carpenter repops and they are just like the originals. Here's a bit of advice that I do. I use 4 clips, not 3. WEAR SAFETY GLASSES! You already know that they can fly every which way. Hold the bezel in one hand, install the lamp -I mark the back of lamp with a magic marker where opposite the glass side where the FORD logo is so you get it at the top of the housing when assembled. Line this mark up with the screw hole on bezel. Install clip with the hand by slipping the left side of clip up under the bezel lip. Then you sometimes can slip the right side by hand but most times you need a screwdriver or needle nose pliers to bring it up under the lip too. Hold everything tight and then install the second clip directly opposite the first, 180degrees apart. After that the two are easier. You must watch where you put the clips because there is a pilot lip on the bottom of the shell that the bezel slips onto. The best position for the clips is to picture the bezel as a clock face with the screw hole at the 12 O' Clock position. Install the clips at the 1-1/2; 4-1/2; 7-1/2; and 10-1/2 positions. When lamp is held in by all four clips, install socket onto terminal end, hold shell in one hand, carefully take bezel with the other and first find the lip on bottom of shell and slip bezel onto that then pull up to top of shell, press on while eyeballing that the screw hole lines up with the tang the screw screws into. This is the best formula I've found to work for me. I always had bad luck with three clips so now I use four and no problems anymore. If you can't get her done, send it to me and I will put it together...

Note lamp is a later sealed beam type, but installation is the same with clips. I use 4 clips when I do my worklights...

Good Luck, bro

Tim

Thanks a bunch Tim! I just needed to spread the "legs" of the clip out a good bit to make it work. It's good now. I appreciate the help!
