rear axle lift pins, are they the same on all N's?

(quoted from post at 10:49:10 06/15/16) Will the lift pins that are attached at the bottom sides of the differential the same on all N"s?
ns different than 9N/2Ns

No the 9n / 2n have a lip the the 8n does not . The 8n has a resess in the middle of the tapper . The NAA does not have the resess AND the stud is a little larger so the cat 1 ball is not loose on the stud . All of my used 8n pins have maybe an 1/8 inch play even using a new lift arm end . The later model pins that where installed on one of the 8ns has no slop .

Interesting, never knew they were
different, I bought used ones from an 8n
to put into an naa that someone had
torched the pins off, and both the 8n
ones and naa ones I removed had the
recess

Could be an aftermarket thing too . I recently busted down 5 8n and 2 9n rear ends to salvage parts . I saw the solid style and noticed the area the arm fits on was a little larger in diameter . I don't know why you would not want a reasonable snug fit . The NAA pins I found on eBay were the bigger type , with the same size nuts on each end .
