My mission creep, 8N

I guess this gets us all. The head gasket went bad, followed by antifreeze in the oil destroying the bearings. Crank was turned, Block was bored and .090th sleeves installed, new pistons, new valves, springs, guides, cam and lifters. Block decked along with the head. ( valve to piston clearance checked) You get the idea $2200.00 and the engine is like new again.
So why not rebuild the steering box, Hydraulic pump, go thru the tranny. I am going to seal off the front side and then go thru the center section. This was going to be a " honey I can just fix the engine and put it back to work deal " I am having fun though..

Looking mighty good..yea, don't take long to sink tons of money in one..then u have to keep
it whether u need it or not...

Looking great. Once you get that far, it really isn't that much work to do the rest. It will be a very nice tractor when finish. keep going!

" honey I can just fix the engine and put it back to work deal "

You will be repaid with "Honey I am going shopping just to get a pair of shoes" ..........

Looks great , start the heating / cooling cycle on those lift arms today and they might come off in a week .

Don't worry, she already knew better than that!
Looks good to me. As Tom said, it's a keeper now.

Not much chance of selling it for what you have in it unless
you use it for several years. keep it in that shape and then sell it.
Personally, I would rather buy one that has been broken in as
opposed to buying one with a "fresh" (untested) rebuild.
So if I were the buyer, using it would lend to your cause.

Folks might be surprised how handy these tractors are when
they work as they were intended. Some people have never
had the inclination or the ability to make them work as they
should. Those are the people you hear bashing them regularly.

Congrats on the new tractor and the nice job! :)

I have a couple of show cars that started that way.
"I'll just weld in a panel here to fix some things"
went horribly wrong. It was fun, though. When I
started farming more I quit showing them and drive
them on nice days. I enjoy driving them as they are
essentially new cars and I never have any
breakdowns with them. They are expensive parts
chasers.

Thanks for the compliments. I have been working on it for awhile. As far as the manifold. I had it sand blasted and painted it. Can't remember what brand of high temp coating it is. When I get back to the shop I will check. I have been using it on my Muscle car restorations, it holds up well.
