8n fan removal

First we took out the 4 bolts then soaked
with wd40 for a bit and used a punch to tap
it off. Here's pics of what it looks like.

What is it we're supposed to be looking at?

Why did you use WD40, a rust inhibitor & water dispersant (WD) instead of a penetrating oil like PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench or Kroil?

Wd40 works for us, when I searched this forum for a pic of fan removal I could not find one. When we finally had it apart I thought a pic would help others. Thanks, Jim
