Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi now before I start with the questions and posts. Tomorrow I am headed to pickup a 2N project and it will be my first N. So between the searches and what not I am sure I will be in need of lots of advice along the way. Thanks in advance.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Make sure your first parts order includes a

Thanks. I have been reading through the tips. It's good to find so much info and help out there. My wife works at Tractor supply so I have an in with some things. Turns out they have the FO-4 manual. I will check on the others.

Not to worry....most of that will buff right out lol. As you said you're in for "a fair amount of work" there. Congrats on the new tractor, they're a lot of fun to work on and operate.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of smart folks willing to freely share knowledge.

Looks like you have a few hours of fun on your hands :)
Be interesting to see how many different years make up that tractor.

Have had my 2N for 4 years so far and just this spring found out rear end center section is from a 8N.
Last spring found out cylinder head is also from a 8N.
The "Boss Lady" goes before my Sadie Mae goes.

Poor old tractor is getting hauled around in public completely naked! She will plotting her revenge someday.

revenge has already happened. Today I went to start looking cliser at things and noticed i couldnt turn or even wiggle the crank pully. I pulled the plugs and found my reflection in the number 3 cylinder. I added some ATF to all the cylinders and put the plugs back in for now. I hope i still have a chance at saving it. Supposedly it ran a year ago but who knows.
