Whatever turns your crank.

But you'll find that almost ALL 8N owners here prefer the original colors.

Not a value adder and will be harder to sell. Not selling it at sometime later in life than the kids will have to deal with it when you're gone. Some of the older 9n industrials were OD green

I know folks say 8N's were never blue. I have a 1948 that I am restoring. It was blue when I bought it, as I tear it apart it is blue everywhere. If it were repainted to sell when new, it would have had to have been completely tore down and repainted. So who to believe? I could not paint an 8N green.

It's your tractor. Paint it any color you like. Seriously.
Resale value would be the draw back as mentioned.

(quoted from post at 10:27:07 05/30/16) I am going to paint my 8n green olive and flat black whaat do you guys think?

Depends on the shade of blue. If it's a dark
blue it's conceivable that it was ordered
for the Air Force. I've never heard of one
but stranger things have happened.
If the color is the standard 1962 and later
Empire Blue then I would put my money on it
being a repaint.
As for the color scheme proposed by Horace,
I probably wouldn't do it either though I do
like the one in Kirk's photo.

your tractor
I paint em like I feel like. Line my NAA's up..all different.
Am considering a OD green one or maybe a flat camo one.
(I like that dual wheel green one pic)

960 I'm working on is going to be flat black, maybe white wheels, maybe light gray. I have been spot spraying stuff flat black as I've been working on it.....hey...I like this. Big mean beast, quite fitting.

Got a couple Farmalls entirely painted in Rustoleum rusty metal red primer. Saving for paint.....hmmm...they look dang good right now. And touch-ups take 5 minutes..lol

as said though...these are my 'keeper' tractors...not selling them.
after I'm gone?..sell em for the thousands they are worth...or junk em. I won't care...I'll be dead.

I've been wanting to paint an H International pumpkin orange, and have someone make a set of decals that say Alice Chamblers.

Alice Charmall? ;)

Your tractor, paint it how you want.

Paint a Farmall H up like an AC? What are you nuts? You'd make what's a pretty useless tractor today (lack of implements) into something that would either have people thinking that AC actually did build a decent tractor at one time or that you seriously degraded that H!

I should say I owned 2 AC's at once, my first and my last! Never again!

I can't begin to count the times that I have heard someone say Allis Chamblers, but that Alice Charmall would be great! A local used car dealer brings an H to the Southern Ill Antique Power Club show that is painted up like a John Deere. Kind of humerous to see people look it over real good, and then say something to themselves, or the person beside them, such as "now that ain't right" Took me a few moments to figure out what he had done!
