Hydraulic Pressure

Has anyone had trouble of high hydraulic pressure of over 2000 PSI after replacing the pressure relief valve? I replaced the old 3 ring piston and the scored up bore casting because it would leak down in less than 5 minutes. I also replaced the pressure relief valve and cleaned everything up while I had them taken out of the tractor. After putting everything back together, I run a pressure test, and found that high pressure with the lift arms chained to the axle housing. After a day of use, the pump will not lift a 3 point quick hitch. I pulled the side plate and now have a major leak from the pump housing and the valve casting where they bolt together. I think I will put the old pressure relief valve back in the pump after fixing it this time.

I am currently trying to cure the same problem after replacing the same as you on my 2N. Wished I had a high pressure gage to check, before dismantling. Presure listing is 1700 # My problem is mine locks up now when I have a heavy load on my rear boom and I have to let it leak down. Suspect the too high pressure is more than the return spring can handle. I will put old "relief valve" in and see how it goes then.
