I took the pto out and noticed the housing was missing a large chunk of it so I am not really sure how to get it off of the shaft I wanted to replace the gasket and seal and replace the oil in it and clean the crap out of the holding area. So can anybody explain how this is done please? I need the housing and not sure which way to go just by the whole setup but since it is 1-3-8 my current OPC will not work since it was for the original shaft. Thanks!

I would probably buy the whole assembly. Much easier.
Yes, you may need a different ORC if you run a rotary mower.
But at least you'd have all new bearings and seals to boot.

Like others said, better off with the entire replacement shaft. But to answer your question this is what I used. Ithe was a part from several years ago and I think Soundguy posted it...it was easy.

4 bolts and you snatch the assy out, remove rear circlip, tap pto external stub end down on a pice of wood on the ground(or place retainer in vice and drive the shaft thru the retainer), bearing carrier and seal fall off the pto shaft and bearing assy, drive old seal out, drive new seal in, ( 2 -5/8 socket makes a great seal driver ), reseat by greasing seal lip and setting pto lone end down on a piece of  wood on the ground, short end with bearing facing up, set bearing carrier and new seal on top, then tap down witht he shaft ontothe wood and the shaft will seat into the seal and carrier.. reinstal circlip, clean flanges up for gasket, slip back in with new gasket, bolt down, add oil.. etc.
