Coolant in my oil

My 8N has served me well the past 8 years, mowing for an hour or two per week. Yesterday, I noticed mayonnaise in my filler cap and I'm losing coolant. Additionally, there's water spitting out at the rear exhaust manifold where it meets the block. I also have white smoke out the exhaust. I'm thinking either I've got a blown head gasket or cracked head that's letting coolant into the cylinder, and it's probably traveling through the valves, putting coolant both into the oil and into the exhaust. I'm planning to pull the head and at least put a new Fel Pro head gasket on. I'd like to have the head magna fluxed too, but I'm guessing I could probably buy a new head for the cost of magna flux and machine a flat surface. Anything else I should check?

sounds like your manifold is not sealing properly to the block. u might find it only needs a new gasket, but chances are the manifold and/or block is/are eroded behind the rear port.

If it was me I would just put a new head gasket on it, look closely at the old one for a streak or trail from coolant to cylinder.

Usually, I say usuall,y the water gets into the oil when the engine is shut down and the radiator is still pressurized.

1 or 2 hours a week, just run it with the radiator cap loose, 1st notch no pressure, if it does overheat tighten the cap and carefully (with a rag) relieve the pressure when done.

Yea I know, here it comes

Pull her plugs. If a cyl is getting water in I one plug will be steam cleaned.

Do some diagnostics before peeling head off.

If you find a clean cyl, do a comp test.

Post back.

Pulled the plugs and the fourth plug (rear-most) was wet with coolant/water. The other three are dry, so I'm thinking its a blown gasket or cracked head. Didn't have time for a compression test, and not sure if it's needed since the head will have to come off anyway.
