Hi I have a 1945 2n but I just picked up an 8n but I can not read the vin# it is a side dizy and the gen is on the left side it also has the vent in
the hood for the air cleaner and the seat is real funky not a pan seat anyone got any guess what year it could be? Thanks

Mid 1950 to 1952. At least the engine would be.
Those were the side mount distributor years.
Check for a date on the hydraulic pump or rear axle trumpets?

Kenny........WHY do you want to know the year of yer N-Tractor? Is the county tax collector chargin' TAXES base on the year? Early 8N's had the weird 4-nipple front mount dizzy like yer 2-N. Later 8N's that the more traditional 5-nipple side mount. You kenn count nipples, kent you??? BTW, points are DIFFERENT depending up whether front mount or side mount. .......HTH, Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister

As said.. the engine is a 50ish and up.

if you want to date the chassis, look for date codes. if they are in that range.. or match within a few months of each other, good bet it's a complete and not a put together unit.
